This is the final piece that I produced for the Foundation exhibition at HCA on Friday 14th June. It depicts Shrike entering the aviator's cafe in Airhaven where he first confronts Tom and Hester. The piece is simple enough so that Shrike is the main focus and the colours contrast well.
A rather sensible illustrator from the home of cows and cider. My name is Carrie Jones and I'm an English illustrator and conceptual designer. My love of films, books and video games has led me to imagine and design hundreds of worlds, characters and stories which I would love to draw. My original inspiration comes from the Lord of the Rings by J. R. R. Tolkien. I have a deep love for the books, movie adaptations and subsequent video games that have emerged from the franchise.

Hester Shaw - Mortal Engines
My final project for the foundation course was illustration of one of my favourite books, Mortal Engines. Here's the character design for Hester Shaw.
Foundation Final Exhibition
So, to start off, I thought I'd post up some work from the end of my Foundation course at Hereford College of Arts. This year taught me a lot about myself as an artist and as a person. The three projects that I took part in were just fantastic and I can't wait to get started on my own personal ones. Here's some of my stuff from this year!
